Care Worker

Holmdene, Balclutha

Part-time permanent

We are looking for a Care Worker for our Enliven care home in Balclutha, South Otago. 

You will be working 4 days on and 4 days off starting at 4pm and finishing at 11pm. 

You will be providing personal care within an aged care setting and should be keen, motivated to learn, and have empathy for older people.  You'll put your practical skills and compassion into supporting residents with everyday activities such as personal care, assistance at meal times, and general care duties that make for happier, healthier living at an Enliven home.

You will work hard, but there are few jobs that will give you the immense satisfaction of working for people who are grateful for your help and who contribute to an enriching working environment.


About You

The ideal applicant will have experience in an aged care environment. However, this is not essential as we will provide comprehensive training and orientation.

  • Able to manage the physical demands of the position. 

Applicants who hold the National Certificate in Community Support Services, Foundation Skills or Core Competencies Level 3, would have an advantage.

About Us

An Enliven home, Holmdene has 35 residents who are supported at hospital and rest home level of care. It’s a home integral to the community and one of 7 Presbyterian Support Otago Enliven homes to have 3 year certification. That is testament to the quality of our systems, processes, living and working environments – and especially our staff.       

Presbyterian Support Otago is a major provider of health & social services to the people of Otago. We employ in excess of 700 and are supported by over 500 volunteers. We’re central to the communities in which we provide services and your role is central to all we do.
